Things To Do

If you are traveling to the Manor House from Bradley International Airport or coming through Granby, you will most likely be driving through Barkhamsted, past the lovely reservoir.

Just east of the reservoir on Route 219 is Enders State Park where you will find a lovely hiking trail. Keep your eyes open for the CT State Park sign. The parking lot will be on your right if you are heading east.

In the fall the trail is covered with leaves so tread carefully. As you can see there is an obstacle or two along the route but the fallen trees can be easily bypassed.

Enders Falls

You can hear the sound of water rushing through this gorge where you will pass several waterfalls. If you venture off the trail beware of slippery rocks in the wet season. We hiked the trail just the other day, in early November, when some of the leaves had fallen from the trees. Sunlight filtered through the forest canopy for a view of the cloudless, blue sky.

There are numerous quiet, .lovely trails throughout Connecticut just waiting for you to visit. Call the Manor House and book a room before the trails are covered in snow. But then again, you could lways pack your snowshoes.
